Full Day Cochin Tour For Cruise Ship Passengers

In this unique tour, you will become the citizen of Kochi for a day. You will explore Cochin with your guide by being one among the native. You will walk, take the TUK TUK through the narrow streets of Fort Cochin and Mattancherry , climb on a local bus in the busy hours to the city , walk along thousands of people at the local market , know the spices , visit the railway station when thousands of people return to their nearby village after the day’s work , join the harbour cruise in and around the harbour in mainland. By evening you will witness and experience everything what is happening in a day at Cochin.

You will be received at the pier by your guide and driver and you will drive to Fort Cochin to visit The St Francis Church, the oldest European Church in India ,where Vasco de Gama the first European traveller to India was originally buried. Visit the Chinese fishing nets believed to be brought to Kochi by the Chinese Traders. After Fort cochin, take an Autorikshaw (commonly known as Tuk Tuk) to Mattancherry. Dutch Palace (closed on Fridays) at Mattancherry is renowned for its wall murals depicting scenes from the Ramayana & Mahabharatha. The Jewish Synagogue (closed on Saturdays) at the heart of what is locally called the Jew Town. A walk through the Jew Street is a pleasing experience.

At 1200 hrs, climb the local bus from Mattancherry to Broadway ,the famous wholesale market in the down town. The bus journey is a thrilling experience passing through the bridges, narrow roads and finally the Mahatma Gandhi road, when you enter the city. Your journey ends at Broadway at 1240 hrs.

Broadway

Broadway is the final word for whole sale shopping in Cochin. Ten thousands of people from many parts of Kerala visits Broadway every day. You name it and you get it here. A steady walk through the narrow streets will sight you the hundreds of shops here.Your guide will take you to the local shop and buy you chips to taste the best made chips .In this small place you will get an opportunity to see how different kinds of chips are made.

In the afternoon walk across the road and your guide will take you to a small Vegetarian restaurant which offers Kerala thali meals.

Marine Drive

After Lunch, a stroll along the long tree-lined coastal pathway that lines the backwater is well worth the time spent, especially late afternoon or dusk. The bustling backwaters, dotted with fishing boats, speedboats, ships, tankers and passenger boats, can be observed from this walkway that lines the coast.

At Marine drive you will also take a common motor boat cruise on seat on boat basis for 45 minutes around the harbour area.

You will be driven back to the pier well in time before the departure.
