Motorcycle Tour To Nedumudy Backwater Village

If you are a motor cycle rider, here is an opportunity to ride a Royal Enfield Bullet 500 CC at your pace, accompanied by our Motor cycle escort. You will be met at the given time and your escort will hand over your Royal Enfield Bullet and after a brief explanation you will go for a few minutes practise ride to get used to the machine and then will start your ride of 65 km to the backwater village of Nedumudy. You will avoid the busy National highway and will take on the seaside costal road through very impressive small fisherman’s villages. You will have occasional stop at a fishing village at the busy hours witnessing the selling and buying of fishes. You will stop at local tea shops for a hot Kerala tea. Once you reach close to your destination, you will get into narrow single roads, riding through typical backwater village with backwaters and paddy fields on either side. 

A slow ride through the paddy fields , you will see people working on the fields ,  sowing the seeds, getting rid of weeds, diverting water channels  , the most fascinating obviously is that of the ducks, quacking together in high decibels and moving across the backwaters in large numbers  , shepherded by men on small boats. One can also catch men playing on the backwater; some diving down to collect lime shells from the depths and others fishing with their nets and traditional cane basket. You will arrive at a 100 year old wooden kerla house  situated on the bank of the holy river Pamba,. The home is just on the bank of the river with a clear view of the village life across and also once sit and relax watching the fishermen , boats , people cruising along.

You will now set off in punted canoe with your lone oarsmen, on a slower pace cruising through backwaters  , watching the people on the banks , some taking a bath, some fishing , some washing their utensils and some waving at you.  

You will have a sumptuous Kerala lunch with your host at the home. After letting the sun cool a bit, you will ride back to Cochin on a different route through the backwater coastal stretch avoiding the national highway. Your motor cycle escort will escort you till the hotel and you will return your motorcycle.
